We are currently consulting with key members and agencies in education regarding the project and are developing the activities in conjunction with a range of educators.
The timeline is as follows:
December:
- Shortlisting of NZ and British schools takes place.
- Schools information pack drafted by CWA.
- Generic project activities designed in conjunction with InterLink Education Advisory Group.
January:
- 12 NZ and 12 British schools identified.
- Local community of each school contacted (e.g. Mayor, Council, major businesses etc.) - we will be asking schools to help us get in touch with the right people.
- School-specific projects designed in conjunction with Education Advisory Group, following discussion with each pair of schools.
- Schools information pack completed.
- InterLink website on-line by end of January.
February:
- Schools paired.
- Information packs to schools.
- Time for teachers to plan the integration of InterLink project activities into their timetables.
- Publicity/media opportunities explored in conjunction with the British Council and schools involved.
March:
- Live Internet linkup with British Council-sponsored dance party "Omnivore" - Wellington, March 1.
- Project officially launched at 10am NZ time on Monday, March 3.
- Generic "getting to know you" activities and other projects to be carried out by paired schools.
April/May/June:
- Classes continue with generic projects, move into school-specific projects in May.
- Beginning of June - 15 June, closing activities.
July:
- Feedback questionnaire to be completed by schools and returned to CWA by mid-July.
- End July - summary/review document produced by CWA and distributed to all participating schools.
