RITUALS

Every culture has rituals and traditions they follow. What are some of your local rituals which are still respected and preserved?

Have a go at making a video or an illustrated guide to show someone from another culture what is done for a particular ritual or tradition.

You will need to begin by giving some information about what the ritual or tradition is and its history. You will need to explain, draw diagrams or show how......

  • people should dress,
  • where and when they should stand or sit,
  • what words or songs are sung and what they mean,
  • what people are involved and what roles they play,
  • the setup of the place where the ritual is held,
  • plus all the other things people might need to know.
You may be able to post the video to your pair school, so that they can see what your rituals and traditions are or publish your guide on the net.
