Each of our class kept a diary for 1 week & came up with these results. Most watched film was Romeo and Juliet, followed by The Haunting of Helen Walker. On t.v most of the class watch Friends every week and 3rd Rock From the Sun. Home and Away (Australian) was the most popular soap and X-Files a very popular drama series. Try doing a search on "TV"&"Friends" or "TV"&"X-Files" in your favourite search engine (I used Yahoo but they're all pretty good) - you will not BELIEVE the number of unofficial Friends and X-Files sites there are out there! Putting the & between the two words means that the search engine will only give you sites where BOTH "TV" AND "Friends" appear - which narrows down your search quite a lot! It's called a BOOLEAN search :)Ali
Lots of people watch cartoons straight after school and a fair number watch
sport and the news.
Of all the t.v and films watched not one of them was British but mostly
American with a few NZ or Australian programmes.
As for music, Smashing Pumpkins was listened to by 17 of our 27. Other
popular groups were Prodigy (BRITISH!), Nirvana, Silverchair and Blood Hound
Gang. Again, try a search on any of these bands - "Smashing Pumpkins" in Yahoo gave me hundreds of Smashing Pumpkins sites. Putting the words in "speechmarks" means that the search engine will only look for sites containing the phrase "Smashing Pumpkins" and will ignore ones that only contain the word "Smashing" or the word "Pumpkins" :)Ali
Overall kids in New Zealand don't seem to watch many British programmes.
