"LIONS, KIWIS AND OTHER ODDITIES"
NEW ZEALAND ICONS
The mini's body is little more than two boxes.
The mini's origin is from Great Britain but it is
very famous in New Zealand because of its small shape and is still seen quite a lot on our roads today.
There's even a NZ movie starring a yellow mini - it's called "Goodbye Pork Pie" :)Ali |

The morris miner was one of
New Zealand's best loved
estate cars of the 1950's.
There were heaps of morris
miners driving around
New Zealand back then and
some still drive around. |

This is our Government Crest. It has been New Zealand's coat of arms since 1911.
On the coat of arms there is european and a maori chief by the crest and the crown above the crest is St. Edward's crown which was worn by Queen Elizabeth when she became queen. At the bottom is the silver fern.
On the shield at the top left is the Southern Cross which is what most early New Zealanders used to navigate here. The other symbols relate to our nation as an agricultural one. Farming is very important to us. The 3 ships in the middle I think relate to the fact that most New Zealanders' ancestors came here by water and also the first ships to arrive from Britain. |

| We see this kiwi sign everywhere and it is usually on a sign on clothes, and food products to say that they are made in New Zealand. |
