"WHAT'S IN A NAME?"

Leisa is a shortened form of Elizabeth.

Eugene (well-born), Simon (snub nose), Cameron, Timothy (your worship), Danny (God is my judge), Toni, Melanie, Nicola (Victory to the people) and Leah (weary) were named because their parents liked those names.

Alana's parents liked this Hawaiian name.

Courtney was the maiden name of her great great grandmother while Kathleen, meaning Pure was named after her Grandma. Cathryn's name is Greek for pure.

As a baby, Anne was sick a lot so her name was chosen for luck.

Yiing Chau means super.

Terri's name was originally Terry but was changed because her teacher thought it was a boy's name.

Kumail's name was chosen after a very wise man who was the companion of their leader Imam, who has since died.

Douglas was named after Sir Douglas Bader, the famous fighter pilot of World War II who lost both his legs.

Lance's dad wanted to call him Vance, but his mother suggested Lance instead.

David's parents chose his name because it was spelt the same as in Norwegian.

One of Jasmon's aunts gave his mother 2 choices of birth names: Eugene or Jasmon.

Caitlin's parents first heard her name (Welsh for Catherine) from the poet Dylan Thomas. It is his wife's name.
