"A DAY IN THE LIFE......"

Rangi Ruru Girls' School Christchurch's view of Worcestershire, England I think you live in normal brick houses, and get up at around 7:30, you eat fried potato, bacon and sausage for breakfast. How to you get to school, do you bike, bus or by car. What time do you start and finish school? Do you start at 8:30 and finish at 3:30. I don't know whether you have to wear a school uniform. I suppose you do the same boring subjects as us, including maths, english, science and Social Studies. I think you have approx. 30-35 kids in each class. By the way, this is all probably wrong, so just bear with me, we are just doing what we have been told to do. For lunch I think you all go to a big room and get you lunch given to you at school. After school I think you mooch around home and do the dreaded homework or do you play basketball and golf until dinner. For dinner I think you have roasts, vegetables and salads. After dinner I think you sit infront of the tv for the rest of the night until it's time to go to bed at about 10:30. In the weekend I think you play sport all morning on Saturday morning and after that you get together with your friends. Do you have MacDonalds? I would die if I didn't have it. I know you don't lead a very interesting lifestyle, so this is why this letter is so boring. I haven't heard from you yet so we have to write about what we think a typical day is like for you. In the morning I suppose you get up and have breakfast. Do you have porridge, sausages, mashed potatoes or just toast? I assume your house is like the ones off coronation street as these are the only british houses I have seen. I don't know if you wear a uniform. I suppose you go to school by bus, train, car or bike. You probably have the same sort of subjects as us, english, maths, P.E, social studies etc.... What sports do you play? I have heard british people like soccer and cricket. We also have to write about what we think a weekend is like for you. I think you probably listen to music, play sports, go to the movies and just hang round with your friends. Do you go out on Saturday nights? Today we have to write and say what we think a typical Saturday and Monday would be like for you in England. This is really a big guess. O.K. here goes. A Monday morning starts at 7:00am when you wake up then you get dressed and have a breakfast of mashed potato and sausages. I think your house looks like a nice brick house. You get to school on a red double decker bus (by the way that was a big guess). I don't know if you have a school uniform or not. I'll guess school starts at around 8-9:00am. I suppose you have subjects like maths (we just had a maths test) english, history, science. For lunch you might have a big cooked lunch (do you?). After school you play sports such as cricket (by the way which we are far better at!!! Ha Ha!!!) soccer (football in your language) netball and many other sports. For dinner you have a cooked dinner. Then do homework. And go to bed at about 10:30. Now for Saturday. You sleep in to about 10:00 (that is if you like to sleep in) have breakfast. Then play sports. Do you like to hang out with your friends? And then have McDonalds for lunch. Then you go home and have a dinner of roast Lamb and vegetables. Then maybe go to the movies (I don't know if you do or not) Then come home Late and go to bed. They get up at 7:30 and watch TV while having breakfast, for breakfast they have cereal and toast not mashed potatoes and sausages. At 8:00 o'clock they get dressed into their school uniform and leave for school at 8:35, walking, (some people get a coach.) they arrive at school at 8:50 just before the bell. School lessons start at 8:50. They have subjects like Maths, English, History and Science. For lunch they have sandwiches but you can have dinners at school. School finishes at 3:30, they go home and then go out with their friends till about 7:30 and go home for dinner, after dinner they have homework and watch TV and finally go to bed. In the weekend they probably get up early if they play a Saturday sport, or sleep in late, if they don't. They might go Ice Skating, to the Movies, Shopping, have friends over, watch TV and videos, or just relax. They travel by train and bus. Some of them might use computers, or playstations. This is one persons views: On a Saturday you go to the local mall or to town or the movies. I think that you get a big gang of mates and go to town and hang around there. Then maybe go to the movies or something at night time or maybe to a friends house or boy/girlfriends house.
