You say that we get up early and go to the beach and have fried
breakfast before going to school. Well everything is right except going
to the beach because the beach is to far away like 11 km. Some of us
don't have big houses and big gardens some have small houses and big
gardens and most families live together and in the same house.
After school we go home and we don't have a BBQ we just have something
to eat and we don't go to bed early we stay up late until we're told to
go to bed. Well thats all you write to use and I think that this is good
bye OK bye.
Dear Wayne,
The uniform is wrong what you said in the e-mail letter.
The Cargill High Uniform has for third form, a blue woollen jersey, a
winter shirt with a collar, winter or summer shorts or long trousers,
black shoes, and socks. Some of the lessons could be different to ours.
Well, Please send a e-mail to me. Bye!!
Yours Faithfully, Blake Milne
Chris, you were pretty far off about the houses, because we here in New
Zealand mostly live in quarter acre sections with houses on it. Here our
sections are separated by fences and we have driveways and paths leading
up to our front door but we DON'T live in bungalows.
There is one thing I really want to know, where did everyone, who wrote
these letters that we just received, get this thing about a fried
breakfast? I am a typical New Zealander and I don't even have it, I
mostly have cereal like coco pops and for a drink I have a milkshake
that I make in a blender.
I hope you understand now more clearly, Brad Mitchell
Hi Chris Turnbull
I read the letter you write to us. I think that we all do have the some
kind of house. Most house have four to five bedrooms over hear yes we
do have five or six people in most houses. No we don't have fried
breakfast I wish we did. We speak english well most of us. I would like to
know something do you ride bikes to school? You are right about the
subjects. Most of us do hang around with our mates. Some play sports in
the weekend and things. Well Chris you are right about most things.
See Ya Kelly Quayle
What do you mean by a normal family? When our teacher asked us how
many people had a normal family, TWO people raised their hands! You
were right about how many people in a family though, there is usually
around 3-5. We have to wear a uniform at school, which consist of a
blue woollen jersey, a blue checked skirt for girls and grey shorts or
trousers for boys. We wear white shirts under our jerseys.
All the rest of what you said was right, although we do not have youth
club.
See ya later! Rebecca Moloney
Dear Jamie Wilkes and Michael Bowyer,
I am writing to correct you on the things you got wrong, although you
got quite a few right, and you were very close in most cases!!
The lessons learnt are: maths, technology, computing and typing, English,
French, social studies, science and some more like you said.
The sports some people play after school are: rugby, soccer, hockey,
netball, and generally any sport they want!!
I hope you've enjoyed reading this and I hope you have found out a lot.
Bye for now Sarah Officer
To Wayne Fuller,
We received your piece of writing and it was very interesting although
some was a bit wrong! Anyway I will tell you about the things that you
are not so sure about. For a start most of us get up at around 7.00 -
7.30 so we are ready to start school at 8.50. None of us get up in the
morning and go for a swim at the beach as the weather is never hot
enough in the mornings and most of us don't have fried breakfasts, we
just have toast or cereals, and to drink we have milo, coffee, tea,
water, and orange juice.
Yes your right that we do speak English and you were also right about
how we get to school most of us walk unless the weather is really
pouring down, although some do get the bus, car and we also ride
bicycles.
Now maybe you have learnt a bit more about us!!!!
Talk to ya later from Gemma Adam xxxxx
To Jayne and Suzie,
Our homes do not have air conditioning (our cars do) but they do most of
the time have central heating. In New Zealand we do not live in
high-rise apartments. The majority of New Zealand homes do have
refrigerators and washing machines. They do also have fire places and
electrical heaters to keep us warm. Our houses are not like the original
houses, some are made from brick and some are made from other things.
We don't get to broadcast on a school radio station as we don't have a
school radio station. Our classrooms are all different colours and sizes.
We learn subjects like maths, English, Science, Social Studies and we do
learn French and Japanese if we want to. We also do learn Home Economics.
We do play the sports that you said. After school we usually go to friends
houses or go home.
Bye for now, Amy
To Andrew Barber,
Our houses are not raised off the ground by big wooden legs, they are
built flat on the ground.
When we are in school in the morning we do not have a morning workout,
we just get straight into our lessons. We have 3 hours work in the
morning before lunch but after the second hour we have a break (this is
usually called interval). At Cargill High School we don't learn Japanese
unless we choose to, so after lunch we do not learn Japanese.
We don't leave school at 3 o'clock we leave school at 3:20pm and we DO
NOT go to the beach and have a quick surf, in fact the only time we
would go to the beach is at the weekend and most people in our class
don't go to the beach then regularly either. We don't have many
barbeques regularly either.
See Ya Amy
Hi Wayne
Most New Zealanders do get up about 7:30 in the morning but we don't go
for a swim because the beach is too far away. (The South Island of New
Zealand is bigger than England and Wales put together you know). Our
common breakfast is cereal, toast, coffee we also for a treat we have
fried Zebra and fried Moa (ha ha). We have a session on the feild.
From Peter, Adriaan, Timmy !!!!!!
Most people live in one family houses and not in high rise
apartments. Yes we do have Washing machines, refridgerators, fire places and sometimes electricial heaters. Most of us live in modern houses and not VINTAGE ones.
We get up in the mourning and about 7.00am and have Cerail or toast for
breackfast and a cup of Milo. Everyone speaks English but without an ACCENT.
Bye Shane Badman
