"Extinction" - what does it mean? See if you can find a good, accurate definition of what extinction means.
What creatures used to roam your part of the world and are now extinct? Look at species from the distant past to those creatures that have only recently become extinct. Can you find out what caused some of these species to become extinct?
What creatures are currently under treat of extinction today in your area? What, if anything, is being done to protect these species and who is helping?
You may like to create a graphic to show what some of the extinct creatures looked like, or design a "Wanted" poster for an endangered species but instead of reading 'Wanted - dead or alive', the poster may only read 'Wanted - alive'.
Are any of the creatures that were living in Britain the same as those living in NZ? Why or why not?
